Hi! My name is Myriam Collada

Also known as Kaala Baloo. I build games, and the systems that make them think.

I hold a BSc in Development of Video Games and Virtual Environments from UDIT, with a double major in Design and Programming, and I am now studying an MSc in Artificial Intelligence at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. I have fourteen published games and a track record across more than ten hackathons and game jams, three of them first places.

My work centres on applied AI: intelligent agents, behaviour simulation and generative systems. I have been writing code since I was 8 years old, from Scratch games to 3D-printed robots running on Arduino, and I still take the same pleasure in getting a system to behave.

Applied AI

The thread running through my recent work is making software decide things well: agents that plan, systems that adapt to the person using them, and generative models running locally rather than behind an API.

  • Adaptive AI architecture for enemy behaviour

    Unreal Engine 5 · GOAP · Case-Based Reasoning · Final degree project

A hybrid director and agent system that adapts NPC behaviour to the player's style while keeping pacing under the designer's control. Validated through an ablation study and user testing.

  • Local RAG system (opens in a new tab)

    Ollama · Llama 3 · Gemma 3

A web tool that turns documents into adaptive learning material using generative AI, with the models running locally.

  • IndesIA hackathon with Ferrovial (opens in a new tab)

    First place · 2024

An applied AI prototype built against a real industrial brief over a hackathon weekend.

Games

Fourteen published games since 2021, some solo and most with small teams. Chulu's Janitor comes first because it is the project I am proudest of. Everything after it runs newest to oldest.

Experience

  1. QA Tester

    Nakama Game Studio · Coloratura · 2026

Testing a narrative adventure played entirely through audio, with a focus on accessibility for blind players. The game was featured in national media including ABC, Antena 3 and Vandal.

  2. Software Intern

Lurtis AI · November 2024 to April 2025

Developed software tools and Unity prototypes at a company specialising in AI-based solutions.

  3. Assistant Instructor

UDIT Video Game Summer Camp · July 2023 and 2025

Taught design and programming to students aged 15 to 18.

  4. Brand Ambassador

    UDIT · 2023 to 2026

Represented UDIT's video game programme at open days and industry events, including IFEMA and Madrid in Game.

Abilities

Programming

I work mainly in C# inside Unity and in C++ with Unreal Engine 5, and in Python for anything model or data shaped. My degree covered advanced artificial intelligence, object-oriented programming, graphics programming, concurrent programming and databases, and I have put most of it to use in shipped projects.

I am a fast learner and confident stepping out of my comfort zone. I have also worked with SQL and JavaScript across hackathons, coursework and client prototypes.

Design

My degree carried a double major in Design as well as Programming, and I have worked as a concept and level designer on all of my projects, handling documentation and building prototypes to iterate on and validate the experience. I am especially proud of my work on Chulu's Janitor, which let me showcase a wide range of my design skills.

As a designer, I take pride in my ability to understand what a client actually needs. Several of my winning hackathon projects were praised for exactly that.

Production

One of my proudest skills is motivating and organising small teams so everyone performs at their best. Most of my published games were made with a team I helped coordinate, and I take real satisfaction in guiding a project from concept to release. That goes hand in hand with my enthusiasm for Scrum, and with four years representing UDIT's video game programme at industry events.
